Message from Lodge Vice Chief Max Van Ness
Submitted by: M. Van Ness (5/12/09)
I would like to congratulate all the new Arrowmen inducted into our Lodge this past Ordeal and all the new Brotherhood members. I'd also like to thank all the OA members that came out this weekend and helped. The weekend would not have been the same without you! We had a great turn out of candidates and OA members. Thanks to your support, we met our target and completed all the projects we set ourselves to.
I spoke to many Arrowmen this weekend and heard all great things about the Ordeal. Remember the June Ordeal is FREE to anyone who participated in the May Ordeal. So please come out and have some fun with us in June. Especially since we are hosting the Conclave this year.
If anyone has any questions, please feel free to email me at anytime. Thank you.

May Ordeal Recap
Submitted by: Admin (5/11/09)
The May Ordeal was, as always, an outstanding event. Over 60 Scouts and Scouters enjoyed perfect weather and sealed their ties to the Lodge by completing the Ordeal, while many others accepted the challenge of Brotherhood. Japeechen Lodge completed many important tasks for camp, not the least of which was fixing the South Showers and getting ready for Conclave. Thank you to everyone that came to help!
Three important notes need to be passed along. The first is, if you paid to participate in the May Ordeal, than the June Ordeal is FREE! (Yes, that's right, FREE). Secondly, if you were scheduled to attend this past weekend and didn't make it, you can still attend June's Ordeal. Just contact Dean Plaganis to let him know of the change. If you don't attend either Ordeal and you are a candidate, you'll have to be voted into the Order again next year - so please don't miss this opportunity. The next Ordeal begins June 5th. Lastly, sign up for NE-5A 2009 Conclave and enjoy the fruits of your labors! After registering, be sure to head over to the NE-5A 2009 Conlave site to complete the online registration form.

Japeechen Journal
Submitted by: Admin (4/3/09)
Do you have a story to tell? Well, we need to hear it! Submission deadline for the next edition of the Japeechen Journal is April 12th, so we can have time to put it together for the Ordeals. Of special interest for this edition are favorite Ordeal Stories, Conclave News, and General Lodge Events and Updates. If you have a question about what to write, be sure to send a request for help. Submissions can be sent directly to the Journal Adviser.
News from the Conclave and LEC Meetings
Submitted by: Admin (4/2/09)
On the heels of the Conclave and LEC Meetings this past weekend, we have some very important announcements for all Arrowmen. Firstly, it's NOT too late to sign up for NOAC. If you're interested in attending, email Mr. McGuire immediately. Secondly, we have a special announcement regarding summer camp at Citta. Ryan Weisbrod is instituting an Arrowman Ranger Program. We'll have full details on this shortly. Next, this weekend a new format will be used for the LLD. And the plans for next year's LLD is VERY exciting, with a special New Scout Woods program to be launched. Lastly, we have new dates added to the calendar - Conclave meeting dates are probably the most important.
Oh...and we're still running the eBay auctions. Seven items are available for bidding right now, head on over to our AUCTION.
Conclave, LEC and LLD...oh my!
Submitted by: Admin (3/24/09)
Mark your calendars! Sunday, March 29th is the date for two important meetings. A Conclave Meeting will be held at Citta Scout Reservation at 1pm and a LEC will be held immediately following that at 3pm. Also, I've heard the plans for the LLD scheduled for April 4th and 5th - and it should be alot of fun for all. All Arrowmen with leadership positions should make time to attend. The LLD will be held at Citta Scout Reservation.
To sign up for the LLD, please print and send in this year's Registration and Dues form with the appropriate payment. Those of you that still haven't signed up for this year's Conclave can use the same form.

Banquet & Japeechen Journal
Submitted by: Admin (2/22/09)
We've closed the books on another great Banquet. Special thanks go out to everyone that lent a hand to make it such a fun event. The entertainment provided by Crew 423, great food, and a fun auction was all trumped by Matt Lysy translating his brother's Indian name (if you missed it, you'll have to ask Matt next time you see him).
Also, the Japeechen Journal is now available online. Please jump over to the Journal page to print our your very own copy. Don't forget to share it with your felllow Arrowmen in your unit.

Lodge Fundraiser - Support Your Lodge
Submitted by: Admin (12/07/08)
How would you like to help out Japeechen Lodge and get some great memorabilia at the same time? From hard to find Lodge Flaps to gorgeous back patches, we're going to be selling them all! How's it work?
Check out our seller's page on eBay. If you don't have an eBay account, create one and start bidding...it's that simple (unless of course you're under 18, then you need some help from a parent). All proceeds will benefit the Lodge. Shipping and handling fees are only there to cover the cost of packaging and shipping items. Many of these items will make great gifts. And I can guarantee that with very few exceptions, all items are in MINT condition.
All items come from the Lodge holdings or have been donated to the Lodge. We have well over 50 items to sell, some of them are HIGHLY collectible (we have one item that's valued over $800), others are hard to find, and some could be used to fill gaps in your personal collections. Items will be added as we have time, and the fundraiser is expected to run for at least 4-6 weeks...so check back often as new items will be added almost daily!
Standard disclaimers do apply...know what you are bidding on and don't bid for more than you're willing to pay. We will try to have several Lodge specific items available at all times to bid on, but there are many other items that have been donated from other Councils that you may find interesting. Payments will be by Paypal only. Paypal accounts are easy to set up and help protect both the Lodge and the seller. PLEASE email the seller account directly with any questions you may have. Let the bidding begin!
