Camping Guide - Events
LOCATIONS || CAMPING ADVICE || GREAT EVENTS
Finding events that challenge units and offer a unique experience isn't all that hard. A little bit of digging around the Internet can yield interesting results. Asking adults and youth in your unit can bring to light some great gems. Don't dismiss any idea without judging it against two basic rules:
1. Is it fun or will we learn something valuable?
2. Does the event conflict with any of the guidelines in the Guide to Safe Scouting?
If the event passes these two tests, then run with it! Have fun, and make sure to share your experiences with other units.

Pumpkin Chunkin

This incredibly wild three day event is held every fall in Delaware. Come for the pumpkin hats, stay to see the 100+ machines try to launch a ten pound pumpkin as far as humanly possible.
Just remember what to call that pumpkin that blows up on take-off, "PIE!"

Pow Wows are great opportunities for Scouts to be introduced to Native American culture. Dances are a central theme to many of these events.
More information and links for specific Pow Wows will be offered here as it becomes available.
