Camping Guide - Locations

LOCATIONS || CAMPING ADVICE || GREAT EVENTS

Want to know where to go on your next outing? Tired of the same old trips? Are you looking for a challenging event? Then just pull up a chair.

This guide is for you! We only ask that if you find a good idea here, you return the favor and tell us about one of your own. We'll also attempt to offer camping advice and suggestions for equipment as a way of passing on our collective knowledge.

A local park (just a few minutes south of Camp Citta), this large property boasts group camp sites, fishing, swimming,

Interested in a little bit of adventure? Cape Henlopen State Park is located right next to Lewes, Delaware. If you plan it just right, you can make a backpacking trip out of it without even taking your car out of New Jersey. Just use the Cape May-Lewes Ferry as a walk on passenger (you could also sign your unit up to take whatever vehicles over you need as well...but reservations are highly recommended).

Cape Henlopen's beaches are beautiful and the group camping site is within walking distance of several nature trails. Don't forget the surf fishing rods when you go!

Located in what looks to be an abandoned warehouse in Hamilton, this could be one of Scouting's best kept secrets. A favorite hangout of our resident C.O.P.E. director and used by Citta for the Climbing Merit Badge, this gym has enough walls and gear to take on even the largest Troop. Run by an Eagle Scout, the lessons and help are second to none. If you go there for an overnighter, just remember to bring your cold weather sleeping bag if you go in the winter...they turn the heat off at night.
